AVAGE® (tazarotene) Cream 0.1%

Proven to significantly reduce some of the specific signs associated with overexposure to the sun, AVAGE® was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2002 as an adjunctive agent in the topical treatment of facial fine wrinkling, mottled facial hypo- and hyper-pigmentation (blotchy skin discoloration), and benign facial lentigines (flat patches of skin discoloration) in patients using a comprehensive skin care and sunlight avoidance program. AVAGE® does not eliminate or prevent wrinkles, repair sun-damaged skin, reverse photoaging, or restore more youthful or younger skin. Clinical studies have proven that AVAGE® Cream provides significant visible results when used as part of a total skin care and sunlight avoidance program.

AVAGE® cream contains the retinoid tazarotene in an emollient cream formulation. Retinoids are powerful compounds chemically related to vitamin A. Although scientists do not know how tazarotene works, they believe it works below the skin's surface to provide proven visible results. Research has shown that retinoids such as tazarotene work below the skin's surface to reduce facial fine wrinkles, fade aging spots, and even skin tone. Important Safety Information

AVAGE® Cream may harm your unborn child. Women who can become pregnant must have proof they are not prgnant from a reliable pregnancy test, done within two weeks before starting therapy. Talk with your doctor about effective birth control if you are a woman who can become pregnant. AVAGE® can cause increased skin irritation and increased chance of sunburn. Strong wind or cold may irritate your skin more than usual. The most common side effects are peeling, redness, burning, dryness, and irritated and itching skin.
